Principal’s Message
Frank Sparkes School is set in rural San
Joaquin Valley. Our District has gone from two K-5 schools with about 650
students to three schools with about 400 each this year. We are ethnically
diverse, with about 80% of our students having a first language other than
English. We have high expectations for our students in academics and
behavior. It is our goal that all our students complete high school, be
prepared for college or advanced training, and be productive members of
the community. We have a monthly Super Citizens awards assembly to
celebrate good behavior and academic success. Prizes increase in perceived
value depending upon how many months a child has met the expectations in
behavior and/or academics. Thank you for taking an interest in the
education of all our students.

School Facilities
Sparkes Elementary School is housed on a
14.5-acre campus that includes classrooms, offices, a cafeteria, and a
large recreation and play area, with an
additional fenced play area for the kindergarten and preschool students.
The school facility completed modernization seven years ago, and hosts an
expanded media center, a 32-station teaching computer lab, and more
office/reception space. In addition to the media center and computer lab,
other instructional space includes 13 permanent classrooms and 12
permanent portables.
Regular maintenance of the facility is a
commitment of the District and includes a multiyear Deferred Maintenance
Plan to ensure regular painting and upkeep in accordance with standards
for optimal safety and comfort. Custodians clean each of the rooms every
day. The District provides maintenance technicians and groundskeepers to
manage and tend to routine and unexpected repairs.
